Argentina will buy American helicopters instead of Russian ones
Argentina will buy American CH-47 Chinook helicopters instead of Russian Mi-26s, Defense News reports, citing military sources in Buenos Aires.
According to the publication, the Latin American country plans to purchase four aircraft. The publication notes that earlier Argentina studied the possibility of buying Russian helicopters, but abandoned these intentions because of their maneuverability and size.
In March 2021, Zvezda published a video on YouTube in which a Mi-26 helicopter transported a Su-27 fighter on an external sling.
In December 2017, the promising tiltrotor Bell V-280 Valor, created to replace the UH-60 Black Hawk, AH-64 Apache and CH-47 Chinook, made its first flight.
