Revamped “Titanic” will return to theaters
James Cameron’s remastered Titanic will return to theaters in 2023 for Valentine’s Day. Deadline reports.
The film will be re-released in an updated version in 3D 4K HDR. The Titanic was shown in 3D for the first time in 2012.
The news comes after Disney announced during an April CinemaCon event that Cameron’s Avatar will receive a remastered version in September. This will happen before the release of the sequel Avatar: The Way of the Water.
Released in 1997, Titanic, starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet, won 11 Oscars, including Best Picture and Best Director, and was nominated in three more categories. It also won four Golden Globes and five Grammys. Titanic has long been the highest-grossing film in film history. In 2009, this title was achieved by another tape of Cameron’s “Avatar”.
