A rare one-and-a-half-meter snake was found on the territory of a kindergarten in Novy Rozdol
Two rare Red Book snakes were found in the town of Novyi Rozdil in the Lviv region. This is a non-poisonous reptile – a forest slug. One snake was found on the territory of a kindergarten, the other – on the dam of a local lake, the press service of the Stryi district department of the State Emergency Service reported on Friday, June 17.
On Wednesday, June 15, rescuers together with herpetologist Taras Hrynchyshyn caught one reptile, one and a half meters long, on the territory of kindergarten №9, and another – on the dam of Lake Barvinok.
Herpetologist Taras Hrynchyshyn confirmed that the caught snakes are forest snakes and they are quite safe. Moreover, these snakes are rare for Ukraine and are listed in the Red Book.
